Psychedelic footwork scratching. Think about that shit like what even is that?
This is an EP made at the beginning of Covid, at the onset of a renewed dedication to music (by which I mean I gave up writing my shitty novel and decided to be happy instead). I was reading "The Age of Surveillance Capitalism" at the time so I was trying to convey a sense of electronic madness PLUS I just wanted to microchop in a more traditional way.

I've ALWAYS microchopped since before there was a word for it, but Teklife and all that had me fascinated by different approaches that I'd never considered. I was always so concerned with continuity of sound, using samples of different individual instruments to form a "band," that I was practically ashamed when you could hear the cuts in things. But for a few years now (since King Poppy: Confessions) I've been more and more interested in the power of repetition to build successive layers of tension, and the Teklife dudes do that incredibly and also use proudly clipped and stuttering samples. I took this to heart and wanted to form a turntablist version of it.

By which I mean there's stuff here which you may think are synth blips but I am scraaaaatching them LIVE, no edits or loops or nuffing.
